Cruise Resellers You Can Trust
The legitimate side of cruise resale — and how to become a reseller yourself.
Get a Real Cabin QuoteCruise resellers do exist — they are called travel agencies. They sell cruise line inventory at the line’s fares, the line issues the booking in your name, and the agency earns a commission from the line. That is the legitimate version of cruise resale.
Who Legitimately Resells Cruises
| Reseller | What they sell | How you can check |
|---|---|---|
| Travel agencies and independent advisors | Any sailing, at the cruise line’s fares, plus their own service | Booking appears on the line’s website or app under your name |
| Host agencies | The same, through home-based advisors working under a host | Ask which agency the booking is under |
| Group organizers | Cabins from a group block the agency holds with the line | Group contract terms, booking number from the line |
| Charter promoters | Cabins on a ship they have chartered | The organizer’s own terms and guest services |
What Makes a Reseller Trustworthy
- Your booking is made with the cruise line in your name and confirmed with a line booking number.
- You pay by a method with buyer protection, to a business, not an individual.
- The agency is registered as a seller of travel where your state requires it.
- Terms, cancellation rules and final payment dates are given to you in writing.
- The agency is reachable when something changes — before and during the trip.

Want to Be a Cruise Reseller Yourself?
If “how to sell cruises” is really your question, the honest route is to become a travel advisor. Be a Travel Agent explains how people start selling travel, often from home through a host agency, and Cruise Selling focuses on the cruise side of the business. Advisors can list their services on the Official Cruise Directory. Looking for a job aboard ship instead? See Cruise Industry Jobs.
Reseller or Cruise Resale Site?
A legitimate cruise reseller sells new bookings from the cruise line and never needs you to pay a previous guest. A cruise resale site that promises to move someone else’s booking into your name is promising something the cruise line controls, not the site. If you see an offer like that, ask the seller which cruise line process will be used, then confirm it with the line yourself before you pay anything.
Questions to Ask Any Cruise Reseller
- Will the booking be made directly with the cruise line, in my name?
- When will I receive the cruise line’s booking number?
- What are the deposit, final payment and cancellation dates for this fare?
- Who do I call if the itinerary changes or I miss the ship?
- Are you registered as a seller of travel where that is required?
